Since the "Black Friday" after Turkey Day is a non-working holiday for most (and most people like to avoid shopping crowds), how 'bout if we meet at the AVAYA parking lot on Freeport (north of 635) for a 10AM rollout, to do double loop (CW, then CCW) of DFW Airport? Relatively moderate pace, since Terrie and I will be on the tandem -- and you can do one loop, or two, your choice! Rest stop(s) at the Shell station on 114... Optional lunch somewhere (Hard Eight?) afterwards...

I like the idea. How far is double loops? I have to make sure no one is shopping at my house first. I'll let you know when it gets closer.

Probable pace 14-16 on level ground, slower on climbs -- this will be NO DROP as much as possible, with regrouping points as we decide. It's not a race, it's just cruising at a reasonable pace. The plan is to do the first "CW' loop all the way around to the Shell station on 114 for a break, then circle back the other way. If faster riders want to do the Tower Loop, they can, for a 3 mile addition.

Looks like a cool temp morning for Friday - we'll see what the weather looks like, precipitation-wise, and make the call early Friday morning. Check here. As of now, we're riding!!!

Just checked and there will be no shopping at my house tomorrow so I should be there. I vote for Hard Eight - I have been wanting to try it for a while and have heard good things about it.

Rothgebs will be there on their Screamer tandem, and my stepson Brian will be along, too, riding Barbara's Tour Easy... may be some GDBers, too....

It's pretty windy out there, but we're going to ride... we may just do one loop instead of two...

Very nice time, out there, with a tough northbound return leg! Thanks, JohnF, Ken, Rothgebs, Lynn, Tony, and the Morgans from GDB... got in 25.5 miles. Hard Eight BBQ is good stuff, too....
