For those interested in making the drive up to Hays, Ks... the 4th annual RANS rally is being held the Friday-Sunday of Labor Day weekend... Check the RANS website for more info as it becomes available... Terrie and I are definitely going up!

In the past, they have had a 12-mile "ice cream" ride on Friday evening, a 35-miler and factory test riding and dinner on Saturday, and a Lake Wilson ride and lunch on Sunday... but I know some new things are planned for this year.

But.....but..e sold our RANS bikes... Somehow i don't think they'd be amused if we showed up on our Bacchettas!

They don't care, really... Sara Kay and the local B-riders (several who work at brother John's shop there in Hays!) always show up, and are welcome!!! It's rather funny that the only bike shop in Hays is owned by Randy's brother...

I didn't realize John ownd the Hays bike shop...

I'm from KS too...and have visited the RANS factory last summer.

I would like to go, but I don't have a way up there or a place to stay when I get there. :'( [smiley=censored.gif] I'm sure they would love the work I have done with Blue. [smiley=bounce.gif]

Randy and company have changed up the Lake Wilson ride on Sunday - we'll start at Wilson, south of the lake, ride north to the observation point, then back south and west. Should be beautiful views, but there's a 10% gradient at mile 13, and an 8% one at mile 21... ouch... We may be walkin'!!!

Come on now... Everyone knows Kansas is FLAT! There aren't any hills there! ;D ;D

Having grown up not to far from that area, I know different! My Dad's bike shop used to have a lot of cross country cyclists stop in for repairs, their first questions where always, "when does it get flat" and "when does the wind stop blowing"...

Looks to be a fun ride, have fun!
