Title: Rockwall to Forney 42-miler, Sat 7/7
Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Jul 3rd, 2012, 12:07pm

I've got a ~42-miler that starts at the Rockwall Cycling store at Steger Town Center in Rockwall, that goes out to Hwy 80 and back into Forney, then returning.  This is a very nice, low traffic route, with some challenging climbing/rollers...  You'll get your exercise!   I'm planning to ride at a 16-18mph rolling pace, but NO DROP, with regrouping after hilly sections.  Folks from GDB may be joining in, as well.

Rollout at 8AM (after the "regular" store group rides leave), finishing around 11:30AM or so.  The Rockwall Cycling store is VERY EASY TO GET TO, in Steger Town Center in Rockwall, right at I-30 and Ridge Rd, in the same center as the Target store (right beside it!).

Here is the map of the route:  http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1387509   You can see that this is NOT a flat route..........

Please RSVP here, or you can also call my cellphone -- 214 690 6781  C'mon out to Rockwall for something different!!!

Paul

Maybe I can get Dave to do this ride with y'all.  He'd probably like the hills and a chance to chase DF's!

I think I could do it, but those hills just look yucky!  Besides I'm not in the 16-18 MPH group (yet).  Maybe we can do something up north with the CCRBENTers...

Are you calling me weak or something!? [smiley=duel.gif]  Is this one of those reverse psychology things!?  I bet I COULD do it, just not at your monster pace...

them boys is fast - i can attest to that.  They took off and left me while I was riding the lowracer - into the wind no less.

Hey Tony we could always gang up and start off in front of them like pace cars... [smiley=popcorn.gif]

Don't misunderstand -- I'm not planning to "hammer" as such... but I WOULD like to keep a 16-18 rolling pace in non-hilly areas...

I did misunderstand - thanks for clarifying.  I'd like to make it but I'll have 4 kids at the house Saturday am for a birthday party - I think my wife would hurt me.  I'll have to catch up with you next time.

I'm good with that...I just didn't see any 'non-hilly' areas!  I'll ride with you one day Paul.  Besides is almost 40 miles or something just to drive down there...

I would have made it out except I saw the temp forecast.  Man, I just cannot take that heat.  I wish we had some group rides around that started at 6am instead of 8-9am.  I have this thing about heat stroke....
