Got the Andriod phone app today going to turn on the Live Tracking to see if Kim can tell where I am on the 13 mile route home today.

That is a feature I like already (if it works) over Ride with GPS.

We make some use of google latitude on the phones for live tracking. It works ok most of the time in urban areas. In rural, where coverage is weak, then you stay stuck at the last tower it saw you on, or sometimes on odd towers not on your usual route, but ones your phone can 'see'.

I am not a fan of MapMyRide, it's very buggy and sucks battery life on long rides. I use CycleMeter instead. I'm not aware of it having this feature though. Another you could look into is Strava, a friend of mine who rides uprights really likes it.

Dave & I use Strava via the Garmin to track our rides. We use Strava on the phones for walks.

i used the MapMyRide app once, and it REALLY drained the battery... however, later a pal told me to turn off the WiFi... haven't tried it yet.

I can't seem to get it to track me live so Kim can see where I am on the home computer...still trying to figure it out.

I have used Enomondo for quite some time and find it works quite well. Even lost my phone once and found it with another phone via the web interface. Web site also gives you some graphical representation of the rides and historical info.
