Title: The Ride of Silence
Post by Action Lad on May 10th, 2012, 7:41pm

Next Wednesday, May 16, at 7 p.m. worldwide.

I am going to the one at White Rock Lake, as always.  How many in rbent will represent?

We've certainly had our share of accidents in the area for impetus.

I'll be there on my trusty Catrike Speed, as usual.

Planning to be there as well.  If all goes as planned - I'll be there around 4:30 - 5 so I can get some laps in before the ride starts.

Where are you going to park your car?

I'll try to make it, but it may be tight on getting there on time.

The irony is while I work about 5 minutes from WRL, Wed. is one of the days my wife has therapy.  I'll have to drive back to Allen, pick her up at 6:00PM and get her home in McKinney before I can come out.

Don't know - I guess Sunset Bay if it isn't too crowded.  Any better/other suggestions?  Last year I had a dental appointment so I parked at the top of the WRCT and rode down.

I'll be parking in the lot west of the boat houses (across the bay) at Tee Pee Hill. It's fairly close to the ride start.

Not sure if either of us can attend. Might go up to Sherman for their Ride of Silence.

I will be riding down from Bonner.
I will bring a light but I don't think I will need it.

You'll probably need a light at some point, during your trip back up the WR Trail.

You will need a light - last year it sure was a dark trip back up the trail.  I might meet up with you and ride down as I will need to pick my packet up for WildRide at RBM.

Guess I was outvoted.

Maybe I will even put the light back on my helmet.

Looks like I can make it.  Should be there between 5:30 and 6:00.

Any idea what parking will be like?

I am going to park at Sunset Bay...

I will be parking in my usual place, across from where Jay tends alights...if I can find it...gee, it's been ages since I have been to WRL.  I will be starting out from work at 4:15 p.m., so it shouldn't be that long.  I'd like to get there as early as possible to get some sort of pre-Ride ride in.  Maybe it would be a good idea to have all our phone numbers listed here so as we arrive, we could announce to each other, and coordinate.  Mine is 214-592-6058, or just shine a huge "A/L" against a cloud to get me, like the mayor does. (tee, hee).

If you arrive by 6:00, there will probably be some slots available in the Tee Pee Hill parking lots. I'm going to park in the lot across the bay from Tee Pee Hill. Tee Pee Hill is close to the Ride's starting/finishing point.

Thanks Jay, I'll try to be there by about 5:30 maybe sooner.

TP Hill is on the west side by the boat house if my map is correct.

I may go out to WRL for a ride on Sunday afternoon after I get some chores done.

Looks like I won't be able to attend the RoS.   :'(
I  committed to the overtime before I knew which date it was, and anyway I really need the $.  Hope you all have a good time at the Ride.  Well, school is nearly over, and I'll have time to do all the riding my poor legs can stand...which is quite a bit now, with all the practice.
