Title: October hundred k Post by rmillay on Oct 6th, 2011, 7:52pm I will host LSR's October populaire Sunday, October 16, at 08:00. We will do Steve Petty's Bobcat Bite, a nice 64 mile ride, starting in Celina. Any and all of you are welcome to come and ride. Let me know if you are interested. |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by Pedalin` Peggy on Oct 6th, 2011, 8:27pm Steve and I are planing to ride this ride, It would be so much fun to have some of the guys that we have not gotten to ride with in a long time to come out and play. (Paul, Greg, Nelson, Bud, Ray,) I love this route. |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by Monkeywrangler22 on Oct 6th, 2011, 9:51pm Oh....that sounds interesting! Does one have to be an LSR member and/or RUSA member to get credit for the ride? Also do you have a link to the route? |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Oct 7th, 2011, 8:03am I'll check the church/social obligations for that day.... sounds like fun!!! I'll wear my big tires, to soften the chipseal.. :D Paul |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by Monkeywrangler22 on Oct 7th, 2011, 9:35am I just found the route on ridewithgps, from 2009. Will the route be the same? |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by rmillay on Oct 7th, 2011, 11:19am No memberships are required to ride. Bring a few bucks for refreshments at the checkpoints. RUSA membership is required to get credit for RUSA kilometers. If Dan Driscoll shows up you will be lucky to leave without signing up for RUSA, Lone Star Randonneurs, another ride, and The Texas Time Trials! :D |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by rmillay on Oct 7th, 2011, 1:39pm The route doesn't appear to have changed from that posting. |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by Pedalin` Peggy on Oct 9th, 2011, 4:10pm This is a great way to get a taste of Randonnering!!! Steve and I love the style of riding. Please come play with us. |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Oct 9th, 2011, 5:45pm Count me in - my riding today got washed out, so I did my church choir stuff today instead of next Sunday... PB |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Oct 11th, 2011, 7:45am 8:00 AM rollout. I stole this from RM's post on the LSR board: Get to Celina from I-35 to 380, and go East through Denton about 25 miles to 289 (Preston Rd.) Go North about 6 miles to where business 289 splits off to the left (Oklahoma Dr.), and take it up to Walnut. Turn left a couple of blocks to the town square, and left again on Ohio one block down to Main. Steve says there is parking around Ohio and Main. If coming on 75, turn West on 380 and go 8 or 9 miles to 289 and turn right. Proceed as above. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Main+and+Ohio,+celina,+tx&hl=en&ll=33.226052,-96.768951&spn=0.662839,1.40625&sll=33.320488,-96.788993&sspn=0.020692,0.043945&vpsrc=6&hnear=W+Main+St+%26+S+Ohio+Dr,+Celina,+Collin,+Texas+75009&t=h&z=10 |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by Killer Bee on Oct 12th, 2011, 9:17pm Unfortunately, Peggy has to work this Sunday (due to the Rangers) & I'm not sure what I'm doing on Sunday. |
Title: Re: October hundred k Post by Monkeywrangler22 on Oct 15th, 2011, 1:52pm Not sure if I will be able to make it. Been sick this week. However DH just got himself a new F5 to play with and he might come out instead. Otherwise, once I get over this invasive lung crud, I will be back riding! |
