Title: Bonham 9/24 Post by TonyWard on Sep 23rd, 2011, 9:24am Anyone else gonna be at Bonham? I'll be there riding the 64 mile course. http://www.bonhamchamber.com/aib/autumn.htm |
Title: Re: Bonham 9/24 Post by jayg on Sep 23rd, 2011, 11:07am Yep. John S, Corsa Ken, and I will be there. We're doing the 54-mile route, which includes the killer Leonard Hills. :P |
Title: Re: Bonham 9/24 Post by TonyWard on Sep 23rd, 2011, 11:31am why that one? I have only ever done the 40 mile route - it is my understanding (assumption) that the 100k doesn't have many (significant) hills. You guys planning to start w/ the 100k route? I may switch to what you guys are riding so I don't have to ride alone - unless I can convince you to ride the 100k w/ me. |
Title: Re: Bonham 9/24 Post by LightningPilot on Sep 23rd, 2011, 2:53pm I'm going as well, hoping to ride with Jay and Ken, and make an exchange with Tony :) |

The longest Leonard Hill is the only one I've ever had to walk, and I was on my lightest bike - the Carbent. Want to see if I can conquer it this time. |

the 54 and the 64 routes split after five miles. If it is the same route I took two years ago, it is a fast and fairly flat course. |

Title: Re: Bonham 9/24 Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Sep 23rd, 2011, 9:14pm That Leonard Hill you're referring to must be the one that has "WHEW!" painted on the road just after the crest... ;D |

Rode the infamous Leonard Hills in a SAG truck. [smiley=injured.gif] Note to self: "Don't spend the whole day on a leg-stressing home maintenance project the day before a 54-mile, hilly, into-a-head-wind pay ride on chip-seal roads." |
