Title: Actionbent Fully Suspended Roadrunner for sale
Post by Don on Oct 26th, 2010, 4:14pm

Hi Guys,

I have and Actionbent Fully Suspended Roadrunner for sale. I believe it is a Midracer

It has a 20 inch front tire and 26 inch back Tire and has 27 speeds.

A Fiberglass seat with a covered foam rubber type pad that goes on it and it does have a head rest. It has Tiller stearing that folds up so its easy to get on and off the bike. It also has a small bag on the back of the seat.

The bike looks brand new and is yellow in color.

I am asking 550 or best offer. I was going to put it on Craigs list but am going to just put it on the site for a while incase someone can use it. I cant ride it and just got a Trike so i need to sell this to help me pay off the bank loan on the trike.

My phone number is 903-967-7588

Thanks, Don

Hi Jim,

I did get a decent picture of the bike last week just havent been able to get it to post.  Urbinrider took some pictures of it today when he was here and said he would post them.  It might be tomorrow or so though as i am sure he is tired. He did a lot of driving today.  The bike does have a mirror and kickstand too.  If you message me with your email i can send you a pic of it that way tonight. or you can email me at thewordslayer1@aol.com

Thanks, Don

Hi Power-bent,

I got the bike in Dallas from you i think, i couldnt remember who i got it from but i just looked up alot of threads and found one with your name Thomas hehe,  I remember coming there and trying it out. I thought i could do something to make it fit me but when i got home i knew i couldnt really do anything to the bike to fit me other than grow taller and maybe get more flexable. It hasnt been riden since i tryed it at your house.

I remember seeing all the bikes you were building in your garage and wishing i had that skill and I still re-read yawls 4 state trip where you guys ride within a mile or two of my house and hope one day i can do that.  I have a trile now so there is a much better chance i can get in shape and do that.  I need to get some fenders on it and do a lot of rideing to get in shape to be ready for that........I will try again : )

Hope all is well with you and yours,
Don

Full suspension good for sometimes not being able to choose the best route through the streets due to heavy traffic. I don't know how much pogoing you might get on that rear suspension when you crank it. Shouldn't be too much and on a commuter might not matter anyways especially if you are thinking about some gebe or something.

Lowish bottom bracket, seat and tilting stem for easy stopping and standing.

Hard to tell what tire size or if it'll fit fenders but don't know if you'd need either.

Might be tricky putting storage on it depending on how much you need to bring. Could be better under or attached to seat to get maximum benefit from the rear suspension.

Triple for more gear range for when the wind gets tough or on hills.

It looks like it would be good. I personally don't like the double chaintube setup instead of an over/under idler but it may make no difference and having the full chaintubes there on a commuter can be really nice so you don't mess yourself or your clothes up on the chain.

Yeah got a pm have to get permission.

When I owned the bike, I didn't experience any pogoing. May be a factor of weight - I only weigh 140 pounds. The rear spring shock is adjustable, so if pogoing was experienced by a heavier rider, it could possibly be adjusted out.

The bike has very effective brakes - Dual V brakes.

If I recall correctly, it has an 11-34 cassette paired with its triple crankset for good hill climbing capability.

The rack that fits this bike may be found at: http://actionbent.com/luggageracksus.html. I purchased one of these racks for the bike, but never installed it. Thomas J. may still have it in his possession.

I loved the chain tubes, because they were quiet and didn't add any perceptible drag on the chain.

The bike should be like new, mechanically, because it would be doing good to have over 300 total miles on it.

That is a great rack for that bike. I don't think it will work with GEBE kit if that is the end need for the bike but it would work great for panniers or to support a seat bag/trunk rack for commuting items.

LOL!  Thanks!  BTW, I'm in conversations with John Tolhurst (CB) concerning a possible fix idea, once approved or sold.

Don how tall are you?  You seem to say it didn't really fit you and that you needed to grow?  I'm wondering if this would fit my  5'+
12 year old...?

Oh, yes and I can match your laptop and puppy, and raise you a laptop and puppy and monitor! [smiley=twitchy.gif]

Hi Jim,

I was jokeing about me growing taller, I have a condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis that has my spine fused together and makes me be really bent over. My hight changes day to day depending on how my muscles are. I checked my inseam and it is 26.   Right now im about 4 foot 8 before i got this condition i was just under 5 foot 9 so it has me bent over a lot.

I think if your 12 year old is 5 ft tall they should be able to ride the bike with no problem. also the boom on the bike is all the way in so there is plenty of room for growing spurts : )

Hope this helps.
Thanks Don

Hi Guys,

I havent heard anything back from Jim and only getting some really wierd trade offers off of Craigslist LOL.   I redid the craigslist add today and put it at 475 or best offer.  I talked to my wife and she said to stop doing the or best offer thing and just put the least i can take for it.

So the first 400 cash gets the bike.  I feel like i am posting about this to much so this will be the last time i post about the bike on the forum.  If you want it please call me at 903-967-7588 or PM me.

Thanks Don
