Title: Mineral Wells 100k Rally
Post by bikerteam on Oct 16th, 2010, 8:01pm

Took Angie, and two of our friends to ride 3/4 of the Mineral Wells 200k.  It was a beautiful day.  Enjoyed a very moderate pace as we enjoyed a great.  I saw Mike (on his F5) at the start, but never got a chance to talk to him.  It's great riding up Cherry Pie Hills with you wife.  She stopped a couple times, but got back on the V3 and made it.

Dorothy and I rode the Kiwanis Crazy Kicker Bike ride in Mineral Wells
on 10-16-10.  It was in the 50’s when the ride started at 8 am and
warmed up into the 70s by the end of the ride.  There were about
300-400 riders with routes of 22, 37, 50, 65, and 100 miles.  Dorothy
did the 22 mile and I did the 37 mile.  We rode together for about 3
miles until the routes split.  There were a lot of hills on both
routes.  We were either going uphill on going downhill.  Not many
level spots.   This ride really helped Dorothy’s confidence in riding
hills.

Here is a video of the ride.  Most of the video is going downhill
because it takes too long to show the uphill part!   I got a little
over 40 MPH on the second downhill in the video.  These long downhills
made the uphills worth the effort.

VERY NICE VIDEO.... [smiley=thumbup.gif]

From the shadows it looks like you had the camera on your helmet.  If so, what type of camera, and how was it attached?

Ric,
It is a GoPro Helmet Hero camera.  It comes with several different mounting options.
