Title: Tour Prep Post by Cookie on Sep 27th, 2010, 10:59am Hooked the Bob trailer (loaded with 50 lbs. clay tile) to the back of my XP this morning and did just 10 miles in the hills around Granbury this morning. :-? I got some work to do before we leave next month on the 500 mile tour. |
Title: Re: Tour Prep Post by AustinSkater on Sep 27th, 2010, 3:06pm How did the Bob handle? I'm planning on joining a friend on an unsupported Trans-Texas ride in the spring, and was thinking about using a Bob? Bryan |
Title: Re: Tour Prep Post by power_bent on Sep 27th, 2010, 7:56pm Hey Bryan , you have to have the trailer balance out right from side to side. if not it will feel like it pulling to the heavier side. My first time with it and having 50 lbs on it, Jerry said that i was riding on side and I told him feel like it to. So I move things around on the trailer and was straight up and feel like normal riding except heavier..I have an bob like trailer too. later have fun Jerry.. [smiley=pepper.gif] |
Title: Re: Tour Prep Post by Cookie on Sep 28th, 2010, 9:36am Hi Bryan, The Bob handles real well behind my bike. The level and down hills are great. Be ready for a little more leg work on the uphillls. Tom is right about load balance. Not a real problem though to ballance. I didn't notice a lot of differance in the handling of the bike. If your trip in the spring is open for other riders. I would be interested in hearing more about your trip. [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] Jerry |
