Title: Re: Waco Wild West Century Sept 25 Post by TonyWard on Aug 11th, 2010, 2:02pm I have been planning to do this. Maybe the 100 miles depending on how hot it is and how HHH goes. |

Title: Re: Waco Wild West Century Sept 25 Post by diannalightning on Aug 12th, 2010, 10:25am This is an annual ride that I've done for 20 years or so. We started taking the kids when they were young because of the M&M factory. Over the years, things have changed and now the grandparents / kids / grandkids go. It's a fun weekend. Last year I met Patti at the ride with her family. Carolyn R and I did the ride on our trikes. |
Title: Re: Waco Wild West Century Sept 25 Post by mleuck on Aug 13th, 2010, 11:30pm I did the 100k 3 years ago, unfortunately it falls on the same day as the Big Dam ride in Little Rock and Autumn at Bonham so I haven't been back. Good ride |
Title: Re: Waco Wild West Century Sept 25 Post by Patti on Aug 14th, 2010, 10:26am I am hoping to go again this year but my mother has been ill most of the summer so I may not be able to get away. We had a lot of fun last year and have spent most of this year eating our stockpile of free M&M's. |
Title: Re: Waco Wild West Century Sept 25 Post by TonyWard on Aug 14th, 2010, 1:06pm Did they have Peanut ones? I might dump the 100 mile route and hook up the kiddie trailer. I love me some peanut m&ms. Course with a trailer full of m&ms, they might not invite me back. Is the 100k the longest route that stops at the Mars factory? |
Title: Re: Waco Wild West Century Sept 25 Post by sstexex on Aug 14th, 2010, 4:15pm The 100, 65 and 50 stop at the factory. |

Yes, they DID have peanut M&Ms (my 2nd favorite, almond being first) and people really do bring bags to fill up with candy. We did NOT do that but, at the end of the ride, the support workers had entire boxes of leftover candy and they gave several to my son because they thought he looked so cute on his trike. Sometimes it really does pay to ride with your kids... And yes, any of the routes from 50 up take you past the factory rest stop. |
