Title: 2010 HHH Post by Bud_Bent on Jun 22nd, 2010, 4:47pm I made my reservation at the Lamar Baptist Church community center. Are we going to do the pizza dinner they're offering Friday evening ($5), or go out to eat? |
Title: Re: 2010 HHH Post by aikigreg on Jun 22nd, 2010, 6:16pm Is Rose coming? I'm trying to get Alexis to do the 50 miler with me. |
Title: Re: 2010 HHH Post by Bud_Bent on Jun 22nd, 2010, 6:45pm Rose has ridden a total of less than 60 miles this year. I don't think she'll make HHH. |
Title: Re: 2010 HHH Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Jun 22nd, 2010, 8:51pm The pizza was a pretty good deal last year, as I remember... |
Title: Re: 2010 HHH Post by TonyWard on Jun 22nd, 2010, 8:58pm I'll be there - hopefully riding my first century. We will see how the training goes when the new baby comes in a couple of weeks. I'll be lodging and dining with my wife's Gradma. It sure is great to have family in WF!!!!! [smiley=pepper.gif] |
Title: Re: 2010 HHH Post by Rawhide on Jun 23rd, 2010, 11:54am I may do like I did last year and bring along some Pei Wei to warm up or go out. Waiting to hear what my bro-in-law wants to do. I don't do cheese so pizza is not gonna work for me. DJ |

Title: Re: 2010 HHH Post by jcsadowski on Jun 23rd, 2010, 2:03pm I drive up every year. go to: http://www.hh100.org/images/pdfs/hhh2009mainmap.pdf Download the map. Park in the overflow parking, behind Birdwell Center. It is a bit of a walk to the packet lockup but only 2-3 blocks from the Tandem/(recumbent?) start and you do not have to fight the crowd on Scott street. Is anybody interested in meeting at the Denton IHOP at about 4:00 a.m.? |
Title: Re: 2010 HHH Post by Bud_Bent on Jun 29th, 2010, 6:31pm I'm not much of a pizza eater, either, but for $5, I'm thinking I'll just do the pizza Friday evening. |
Title: Re: 2010 HHH Post by goldrushdave on Jun 29th, 2010, 6:37pm Seriously, the Denton IHOP at 4:00 AM? Why, may I ask, Mr. J? |

We've been asking him that for years. It's hard to beat "camping out" at the Lamar community center, having a free breakfast, then riding to the start, and showering right after the ride. |

Seriously... It Started when I had five kids and little money. About 1985, I think. I get up at 3:00 a.m. Drive to Denton, eat breakfast then drive to HHH. It works for me. |

What the heck, it's not that different than doing a Rando ride that starts two hours from your house... [smiley=wink.gif] |

True that, which is why I've usually accepted free offers to stay close to the ride start for rando events, too. |
