Title: Clown ride this saturday Post by jcsadowski on Jan 22nd, 2010, 8:12am We had a crowd at Barbec's last week. So lets do it again. 9:00 a.m. At Barbec's John 214-783-3181 |
Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by Hurricane Dan on Jan 22nd, 2010, 2:17pm 87% chance of rain at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Which begs the question, do I pay attention to them and miss the opportunity to ride like last week, or ignore the sorry, lousy liars and just take the bike down anyway? Hmmmm.... [smiley=shrug.gif] |
Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by jcsadowski on Jan 22nd, 2010, 3:46pm Which weather site are you using? Accuweather says 8:00 a.m. I am hoping it will dry out a little by say 10:30. |
Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by Hurricane Dan on Jan 22nd, 2010, 5:32pm Weather Channel (www.weather.com). Doesn't matter, they all suck. I'm going to hope for the same thing, and since I just bought an SUV, I can carry the Saber out of the weather. [smiley=happy.gif] See y'all in the mornin'. |
Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by jcsadowski on Jan 23rd, 2010, 3:59pm Despite the promise of rain, seven clowns rode this morning. I ended up with 40 miles and 'barely" got wet. Just after we finished, the rain really started. Talk about timing. |
Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by richardr on Jan 26th, 2010, 10:11pm We would love to start riding Saturday clown rides, but I haven't been keeping up on the forum like I should. And about a week ago Vicky broke her foot. I expect it will be another 2 or 3 weeks before we are riding again. Please keep posting them. Richard |
Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by jcsadowski on Jan 27th, 2010, 7:46am My condolences to Vicky. By the time her foot heals it should be a little warmer. |

On the path and Trail we typically run between 10 and 15 mph. Coming back down the Trail from 635, a couple of us may run 17 to 19 mph on the flats. Not all Clowns ride the same distance. Those that elect to ride up the Trail will typically ride 35 to 40 miles. Some of us may make a lap before breakfast and a one after returning from 635 for a total of as much as 56 miles. If Hurricane Dan makes an appearance, he will be up on the road racing roadies at light speed. :) |
Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by FlyingLaZBoy on Feb 4th, 2010, 8:12pm I'll be there on the SXP, along with our Houstonian guest.... Barbec's at 9!!! |

Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by jcsadowski on Feb 11th, 2010, 8:16pm This time the Clown ride will meet at Barbec's at 11:30 for lunch, then ride. Should be a little warmer but not so warm that all the walkers come out. Some of us may start riding before lunch. John Sadowski 214-783-3181 |
Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by johnnybent on Feb 12th, 2010, 3:04pm I dont know. I was out at WRL and it's a mess. Tree branches are falling in alot of places, it made me keep from going under any of them. Might be ok for the mountain bikes. |

Title: Re: Clown ride this saturday Post by jcsadowski on Feb 12th, 2010, 8:23pm Unless the sun comes out early and brings the temp up to 70 real quick, it is just too wet. Anyone for breakfast??? |
