Title: Wet stuff??? Post by goatstick on Sep 11th, 2009, 9:09pm So what's all this wet stuff getting dumped out of the sky the last couple of days? All the dirt around here ran away and left these patches of thick mucky stuff in the holes in the rock that sticks to your tires and cleats and jumps up on your pretty orange shirt. What's up? North Tx still there or did it up and run off too? |

Title: Re: Wet stuff??? Post by goatstick on Sep 12th, 2009, 10:02am Yep. It's rained every day since Tues here and the stock tank rain gauge gained over 2 feet of water in the last 3 days. We'd almost forgotten what rain was and of course what better way to end a nearly year-long drought than to dump 2 feet of water on parched ground and wash it all away... I can't even get the trike across the ravine that used to be my driveway. Just hope it wrings all the moisture out of the sky well before the TTTT. |
Title: Re: Wet stuff??? Post by Hull 697 on Sep 13th, 2009, 11:08pm Loving it. What the heck, my Conti rear tube wore out and all I had was a Kenda tube. The Kenda lasted all of 6 miles. Let it rain. We got 4" in Seguin, at my house anyway. Lawn too wet to mow, grass making up for months of lost time. I need to rent some goats and stake them in the yard. |

Title: Re: Wet stuff??? Post by jcsadowski on Sep 14th, 2009, 9:56am I saw about 30 riders from RBM Saturday morning. |
Title: Re: Wet stuff??? Post by barlows on Sep 14th, 2009, 7:56pm A few of us rode a 200K out of Greenville on Saturday. Actually, it was just a light mist for most of the day. Maybe 30 miles worth were pretty tough though. Stupid me, I thought I could get by without baggies. Toasted a phone and iPod. Might be able to save the phone, the iPod's a little worse off. So I'll be rockin' the wife's PINK iPod for a while. [smiley=shrug.gif] Steve |
