Title: Who's riding in the rain?
Post by Bud_Bent on Sep 9th, 2009, 2:10pm

The forecast for the weekend sounds better suited for ducks than humans. Where is everyone planning on riding? I was thinking about riding the Cowtown Classic since it starts so close to home, but I'm not much of a fan of riding in the rain.

Welp, I don't think I can do a 200 with the screw in my foot.  40 fairly flat miles has been fine, but I've been eyeing the Cowtown, even though it should be called the "Trailer Park Classic."  I just met a neighbor last week that's big into cycling, but hasn't done anything other than trail.  We went out last week and did a couple days on the roads and upped his mileage a bit, so he may come with.

I doubt I'll go if it's raining, though.  I can always wait out the day and do something here when it stops.

I haven't seen all the roads on the Cowtown course, but noticed that some of them are the same ones I've been riding this week south and west of Crowley, and I saw a lot more ranches and McMansions than trailer houses.

Yeah, if it's raining, I'll likely be a no show, too.

Yeah, the ending portion I remember as quite pretty.

I rode the Cowtown Classic 3 or 4 years ago & I really enjoyed the route. This wasn't a large number of riders(I want to say 400-500), just the right amount. I would ride this pay ride again.

Brian and I will be at the Cowtown Classic if it's not raining.

I did it the last 2 years and it's not a bad ride, if I recall tho it's barely 60 miles and not the full 62
