Title: Well, it's here!
Post by aikigreg on Aug 29th, 2009, 9:23pm

The xstream sorta arrived in bad shape.  Raam will do that to the bike, and Tim obviously pounds his bikes pretty hard.  Several components were mismatched, including a underwhelming crankset and bacchetta front brake which I hate.

My only beef with the prototype were the brakes.  Now the Xstream comes with a v-brake rear.  Here's how I've got it set up:

For a little while it's going to have mismatched wheels:  an american classic front and a velocity rear.  Tim is sending me the front velocity.  I also have a HED disc rear.  Anyone happen to have a crackpipe so I can pump it up????

Now it has a sram red front brake and this bike stops so fast it's like hitting a curb.  Terracycle front idler, tektro brake levers, and an fsa carbon crank with small and middle q-rings and a 56t aero big ring.  This was my old tica crank.

Now she's all pretty, spiffed up with a couple nice high end parts, and ready to go.  I need to find a bag that will work.  The brainbox will not fit.

Taking her out tomorrow with Kent on the TTTT course.

Greg - glad you choose the SRAM red front brake.  I love the SRAM red brakes.  I have both the front and rear on my Xstream.  The Angletech Aeropod bag fits both the Hoagie and Carbon seats.  I really like my Aeropod, and even bought one for Angie's V3

I missed something, why do you now have a Xtream?

You really did miss something if you haven't figured out that Greg likes to buy a bike every couple of months.

True dat.  Thankfully I've never lost money on a bike except the corsa, and and that was only because I sold it to Steve.  Theoretically I have nowhere else to go :)
