Title: Richardson Wildride

Learned a valuable lesson today - Don't register for a $40, early-morning pay ride the day before, even when the forecast is 60% chance of rain only in the afternoon.   [smiley=sad.gif]

So, did you do the ride in the rain?  It looked like they started a little early to try and avoid the rain.  I was over at Shellene's when the first riders went by (she lives past the first rest stop), it was about 8:30, and I don't think that they were riding 28 MPH plus.

No, it was raining a little bit when I got up, and then started raining hard later on, so I took a pass. I'll ride when it is misting or if I get caught in the rain, but I don't ride in the rain on purpose.

I rode... Forty miles of rain.  It eased up for a few minutes once, then rain, rain.
Still it was a good ride with cops at almost every intersection.

wow John you are indeed a tough clown!  I was planning on riding today then got up to rain and went back to sleep.   It was a great day to sleep in to noon.

I have no idea why, I just did it.

The worst part was the seat, The Vision seat is just a big sponge and it soaked up quickly and every time I sat on the bike it went squish.

I got up this morning, stumbled into the spare bedroom where I keep my cycling gear, and pulled on my kit.  Had some water and wondered what that annoying noise was.  Looked outside, saw it was storming, and went back to bed.  Got in 30 miles this evening though.
