Title: PBA Popsicle Ride Post by AustinSkater on May 15th, 2009, 8:49am Is there anyone interested in riding the Tuesday/Thursday night PBA Popsicle ride? I've been riding it occasionally over the last couple of months, so they are used to having a recumbent around (I tend to avoid being in the middle of the pack). They ride it in two official groups, with a third (slower) group that leaves the main route somewhere. "A" group: Faster, racer mentality. This group averages 21+ MPH and can get squirrelly at times, it also goes about a mile longer than the "B" group. They will not stop for mechanical issues - it is a "drop" ride. "B" group: This group averages 19 MPH, and can also be squirrelly. The route that we rode Tuesday was about 34 miles. They do stop for mechanical issues, but it is also a "drop" ride. "R" group: I figure if anyone else is interested, we can stick together behind (or in front of) the "B" group. As far as I know, you don't have to be a PBA member to ride this ride: http://tinyurl.com/pbapopinfo Here is my ride from last month, when I rode the full ride (normally I bail early and head home): http://tinyurl.com/prtzcy |
Title: Re: PBA Popsicle Ride Post by Kwijybow on May 15th, 2009, 7:00pm I've ridden the Popscicle many times over the last 3 years on my Corsa. They start right on my commute home, so I usually ride it with a change of clothes for work in the brain bag! and then finish up my commute home. Might make it someday, but I usually don't plan to far in advance! Take Care, Nelson. |
