Totally off the cycling topic... My son's band, Crashsight, is a local Dallas band playing the Deep Ellum nightclub circuit. Radio station KDGE is having a contest to select a local band to open at their annual EdgeFest, based upon website voting totals.

The group is doing some very creative original music, and it's actually pretty good (IMHO)... ANd it would be HUGE for them to get this gig. So, do me a favor if you would, and go to

And put in some votes for them. Click to select the round button to the left of their name "Crashsight", then go to the bottom and hit the "VOTE" button. [NOTE: There is a song of theirs available to listen to by clicking on their name, but at the moment the recording is screwed up, so don't bother]

If you are so inclined, after voting once, hit the F5 "refresh" key and vote again! And Again! And again!!......

Is there really that many local bands???

And I have never heard of any of them.

Hey, maybe Deep Ellum will make a comeback. I quit going when everything moved to the west end and went yuppie. Used to be pretty wild down there 'til the cops start giving public intoxication tickets INSIDE the bars. And yeah, I voted like seven times.

They got my vote(s)! The Shadow You Cast is a great song! Did they write all those on the Myspace page? A talented bunch of kids!
