It's been a while since I've participated in the GDB Airport ride... It'll be a little chilly this Saturday, but the forecast is for sunny skies. Anybody want to join me for the "standard" 54 mile trip? The "Fast" group leaves at 8:50, but I'm going to join the "regular" 9AM departure group (Preston and Forest, SW corner lot). Typically back by 12:30. Flat cruising at 16-18 expected, with two rest stops at the Shell Station. It's typically a "group" ride out to the airport, then a sort of "every rider for themself" thing around the airport, then group ride back. There are also a couple slightly slower groups that might just ride out there and back for ~35 miles total.

No takers? OK, I won't look for anyone, and may wait to do an afternoon ride, instead.

I'd come with you in the faternoon, but I have baseball practice and doubt I can get up there in time.

I just started riding a bent two weeks ago. I was going to come to hopefully meet some other slower, less energetic riders. I'll work up to around the airport and back. I'll be there at 8:30 on the off chance I meet someone new. I can't "flat cruise at 16-18" for that distance yet.

I hope you were able to ride with some GDBers this morning -- with that wind coming through I'm not sure how many will have shown up, especially to fight the wind out to the airport and back. If you're interested in a slower group that does 20 miles or so, check out the EZGoing ride that departs from Golf and Haynie in UPark at 10AM, or the "starter" group in Mesquite on Sunday mornings at 11:30.
