Title: Easy Riding
Post by jcsadowski on Dec 3rd, 2008, 5:34pm

To dispell the impression that all the rbenters ride 200K every weekend and then maybe again on Sunday. I thought i would post my ride.

I started at Anderson Bonner Park and pushed 21 mile headwinds down the trail and around the lake to meet two other benters at Barbecs for breakfast at 8:30.
After breakfast we started around the lake and a Tour Easy joined the group.
After two loops around the lake I turned left and headed  back up the trail for a total of 35 miles.

The wind was rough, at times, trying to push us off the path or just slow us down. Sometimes it was hard to maintain a speed of 9 MPH.

It got so windy this evening, I cut my ride off at 17 miles. So, if we're trying for the shortest ride of the day, I win.  ;D

If Terry rode, he's probably got me beat, though...

that's right the wind was shifting today and you had that  headwind both ways.

Yea, it is not fair.

Hey, I would LOVE to see more ride reports from more than just us Randonneurs.  I know everybody's riding, but we don't get to hear much about it!

For now at least most of my rides are going to be on the trainer once I get it set up this weekend.

HEY, I got in 47 miles today and yes the wind was tough. The wind has just shifted to the north when I was leaving the TEE PEE hill and it felt a little cooler .It was great riding with John , Jay and Kenny. I got about two weeks of riding because i'm going in for surgery on the 26 and the Doc said no exercise for two to three weeks. ErrrrG  :'(

Something minor, I hope.  We as a group are not having a great track record - good thing we're not trying to buy group insurance together  ;)

I think there is a Surgeon named Dr Frankenstein that is assembling a Cat-5 super bent racer from spare parts removed from you guys during surgery!

A couple of my co-workers and I rode RLP last Monday night.  We park at the ball parks near Fielder .  We left at 11:30pm.  It was about 30 degrees.  We rode the eastern leg.  About 14.5 miles.  RLP is wonderful at night.  When its that cold not to many varmints to dodge.  We do a late ride just about every week.

I had a massive 7.11 miles today, and tailwinds in both directions. I ride my bike to church every Sunday.
