Title: FWBA Muddy Doggy Stinky club ride Post by Bud_Bent on Aug 11th, 2008, 11:35am I'm planning on riding this FWBA club ride this coming Saturday, August 16th. It starts at 8:00 am at the Spinks Airport Park and Ride lot in Burleson. There are ride distances of 29, 38, 50, 70, and 100 miles. More info on the ride, including maps and cue sheets, can be found here (http://www.fwbaclub.org/ride/ride_pop.cfm?ride=650). |

He'll likely be there. He rode with his wife on their tandem yesterday, but had a chain jam behind the small ring on his crank a little over halfway into the ride, and his day was done. |

The 50 and 38 mile routes miss the toughest hills (although none of the routes have really tough hills), but there are some rollers early in the ride, on Retta Mansfield Road and FM3728 just before Lillian. According to my Garmin, the 70 mile route had less than 1100 feet of climbing (I rode it last month), so it's a pretty flat route. I figure it will be a good tune-up for HHH. |

These routes cross some of the Briaroaks roads, but don't really follow any of them. Yes, I plan on hammering, so it should be a good recovery ride for you. |

I THINK THE 50 MILE ROUTE LOOKS DOABLE (http://www.mapmyfitness.com/ride/united-states/tx/burleson/832944144876) You can even print out maps from here. What would be the best time to get to ride start? Red (my Cafe) and I are ready to take a shot at the route, by the way is there a SAG ;D |

I try to get to these rides at least 20 minutes or so before the designated time. I'll probably the there about 7:30. You don't need to be a member, but they do ask everyone to sign their waiver sheet before the ride. The only FWBA ride that has a SAG vehicle is the monthly Bicycles Inc ride. |
