Title: 2 Hour Rain Ride 11/24
Post by Kwijybow on Nov 24th, 2007, 3:06pm

Got out for some cold weather clothing testing!  Need better gloves and footwear!  Didn't quite make it to Celina, as I turned around early.  Snapped a picture in Rhea Mills before it started really raining.

I took the Lemond because it was already dirty and I didn't want subject the Corsa to the rain.
Hope some of you got a ride in as well!

Take Care,
Nelson.

Sheesh, just thinking about riding today makes me cold. I finally got around to doing my ride yesterday at 1:00 pm. It was still just 48 degrees. Every year, when cold weather arrives, it seems to take some relearning about what clothes to wear at what temperature. I had to shed one of the two base layers I started out with. Of course, it wasn't raining yesterday.

Title: The glory of warm feet.
Post by Kwijybow on Dec 13th, 2007, 7:33am

Why oh Why do I have to freeze my feet off before I remember that Flat pedals + normal shoes (ie non cycling, still weatherproof) equals toasty toes!  After my hour commute home yesterday I was finally convinced to dig through the parts box and find the cheap flat pedals and mount them on the Tour Easy, I don't know why I can't remember this lesson before a cold/wet foot freezing lesson each year.   :P

Take Care,
Nelson.

All of a sudden, we seem to be having lots of days to remind us of cold weather techniques. This weekend's forecast doesn't sound too promising, either.
