I met Greg at the Cross Timbers Classic on Victory circle. It wasn't hard to find this page with his advise. Thanks Greg! I hope you smoked them roadies like you said you would.

I bought a 1999 Rans Rocket on Ebay in 2002 with fenders, mirror, rack, taillights and water bottle cages for $700 including shipping. I've since logged about 3600 miles. I've upgraded the bars with the TerraCycle folding stem, adjustable riser and Volae wide tweener bars. I got a new seat mesh when the old one split. Topeak Panoram computer and a Rans seat bag complete the package. For the winter I have the Meuller fairing, and an underseat rack for touring longer distances.

In early 2004 I was riding an upright mountain bike on the street in Albuquerque and the chain came off the coaster brake hub cog. I was dumped right shoulder first into the concrete and suffered acromioclavicular separation, 3rd degree. I found hiking an extreme pleasure, and was able to return to cycling sooner than otherwise because of my recumbent. Since I was stuck at home on the internet for a month, reading about cycling and what to do when you are car-free and suffer an injury, I discovered the Peak Oil theory and abandoned the urge for more material possesions, high paying computer/phone suport jobs and decided to persue the cycling urge greatly. I enrolled in the mechanics courses at United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, Oregon in May 2006. My employer is now Bicycles, Inc. in Bedford since June 2006. I live a little under 2 miles from there. I am slowly convincing them recumbents are a good thing. Okay, that was BS. They tease me like crazy. I'm generally weird anyway, so used to constant torture.

Hey Lev, glad you made it! We had another great day of riding out at white rock lake today. I'm sorting through all the pictures and video now. Hopefully we can all get togeher again soon. Hope to see you participating on here - spread the word for us at the shop. And My offer of rides stands anytime!
