[ posted on behalf of Alex Thieroff Director of Development - Greater Fort Worth Area ]

Put the pedal to the medal as you cycle on the world-famous Texas Motor Speedway track while raising money for Special Olympics Texas athletes in the Fort Worth area!

Recumbents are welcome to participate, so come on out for a good cause and a lot of fun..

You can rip that track. I was cruising at 26 on my m5 and just stunned the crowd two years ago. It was fun.

I wonder if you were the one Alex mentioned to me ..  He said something about "Some guy that showed up on a recumbent and blew everyone away"

Yup. I even wrecked and lost a minute and still came in third overall.  Freaked a few roadies out. God I miss those days.

I remember that Greg. I was going to be there, but over slept because of all the noise at the motel from UNT graduation parties. I will be in MO Closing on my house and moving this year. Best of luck Doug. I would love to be there to see the faces of everyone seeing what the Milan can do. Maybe next year for me.

Is it the actual track of TMS?  I heard from a roadie friend who lives nearby, that it's not a smooth surface, like tar, but rough.  Accurate?

Thats a good question, I was thinking of going with tubless ProOnes on the Milan .. they are slippery and have basically no road resistance ..  but they are fragile .. I'm pretty sure a toothpick can go through them.   Mostly they are designed for track/velodrome situations ..    They would be okay on a cement-rough surface but not much more than that..

Definitely go with  tubeless, because there's crap all over,  too  I blew a tire because I ran over stuff on the track that my tire  picked up. Probably steel from blown race tires. It was also raining though,  so that contributed.

THat might not be the best idea then -- tubeless that is ..   They have been really fragile ..   If there is steel or stuff on that track I might need to go with something a little more durable.

Weird. The tubeless on my carbent have been awesome. Not one ride stopping flat.

Schwalbe Pro Ones are the most fragile road tire of any kind, tubeless or not, that I've seen. The regular Schwalbe Ones are tougher, but not quite as fast.

Exactly .. those pro ones are noticeably faster .. and  (unfortunately)  noticeably more fragile.
