April's RBM Recumbent Ride (Read 2931 times)

Speeds are listed on RBM's site here: http://bikemart.com/about/recumbent-ride-saturday-pg1720.htm?preview=true. However, they are not realistic. The 13-mile group's average probably doesn't exceed 10 mph. The 20-mile group's average probably doesn't exceed 12 mph. Some of us split off from the 20-mile group at the Renner Rd. Starbucks rest stop, and do a total of 30 miles at about a 14.5 mph average. The 30-mile group usually leaves the other groups behind, after leaving RBM. We wait for the 20-mile group at the Starbucks. Going and coming on Renner Rd., we may do some sprinting or mixing it up with small roadie groups or individual roadies. There's a pretty good mix of flats and hills on the 30-mile route. Us RBENTERs do lunch at a nearby Braums, after the ride. As opposed to Muenster, the ride is free.
