GIRO Air Attack Shield Helmet
Nov 21st, 2014, 9:10am

Super deal here in Sizes S and L: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/giro-air-attack-shield-helmet-gir0399?CMP_SKU= GIR0399&MER=0406&CSPID=0912?utm_source=Criteo&utm_medium=Display&CMP_ID=DM_CRT012&mv_pc=r350&mr:referralID=e6a28d88-718c-11e4-ab7a-001b2166c62d.

I had to pay $250 for each of my 2 Air Attack helmets last Spring. Best helmets I've ever owned. Has a tinted, reflective shield, so I just wear my regular glasses. No more prescription sun glasses for me. A clear, reflective shield is available for those dark, cloudy days or for night riding.

Does this helmet work when you lean back against a headrest, or does the back part get in the way???

The headrests on each of my four recumbents are adjusted to support the back of my neck, and are under the back lip of the helmet. So, no the back part does not get in the way.

Wow, I didn't even realize that!  Why in the world would they sell the helmet without the shield??  I mean, it's called the "Air Attack SHIELD" for goodness sakes!   Smiley

The "Air Attack" helmet doesn't incorporate the three recessed magnets that hold the shield in place. The "Air Attack Shield" helmet does and comes with one tinted shield. Extra shields (Tinted and clear) cost $30 each.

$30 for "Silver Flash" here: https://www.biketiresdirect.com/product/giro-2014-air-attack-helmet-visor?v=sf00 000&adl=1&utm_campaign=products&utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&adl=1&gclid=COyQwLqMjcICFeURMwodOgUA9w. That's what I paid for one last Spring.

Average price for tinted and clear shields now appears to be $40.

This is the "Silver Flash" shield. It's clear with a silver reflective coating. I use it on dark, cloudy days. Clear shields are available, but for $40. See above post.
