Tour de Rooster (Coffee)
Sep 20th, 2014, 5:58pm

'Twas a fine ride, indeed, this morning...   8 intrepid explorers started at WRL in the midst of a run event, and made our way across the Santa Fe trail into downtown, braving Elm Street, then riding the Trinity paths, before going back into South Dallas to find Full City Rooster coffee company.  We had some free coffee (but we tipped well), and learned a LOT about the magic beans and roasting, and what FCR does, and why.  We then rode back, stopping for lunch at The Lot, and encountering several other cycling pals....

My pics are up on BookFace, but here is my Photobucket Album    http://s977.photobucket.com/user/pbrown8js/slideshow/RBENT%20Tour%20de%20Rooster

I should get some more from some other folks.

Thanks to all who came out, it was fun!!!   ~22 miles over ~3-1/2 hours.....

Paul

It was a fun ride, indeed, Paul. Excitement (downtown and Riverfront Blvd. traffic), tasty specialty coffee, nice food at the "LOT" , and great company.

We ran across relatively-new RBENT members, gfreeman and his wife, at the "LOT". They're staying at a bed and breakfast in East Dallas, and exploring the area on their ROVERS. Rode back up the Santa Fe Trail with them to my turn-off for home.

Got the memo, however, when I tried the jersey on it was too tight in the waist. The fabric must have shrunk, while the jersey was hanging in the closet.  Cheesy

We appreciated the company on the ride down the Santa Fe, Jay.  My wife confessed she stayed ahead of us because she did not want you to hear her huffing and puffing as she climbed to the peak of the trail.  She was not being unsociable.  We look forward to seeing you and all the Rbent riders soon.

Great little ride with exceptional people. Steve and I enjoyed the ride, the coffee and the company. Very nice lunch at the Lot too. Pretty sure we had way more fun doing this than riding in Greenville.

George, enjoyed my short ride with you. I've heard huffing and puffing a number of times on that one-mile-long climb from the railroad trestle to where I turn off for home. Sometimes, the huffer and puffer has been me.   Smiley

A job opportunity came up very late, so I ended up working from after work Friday, until early evening Saturday.  I would have had more fun on the ride.   cry
