Bud's in the hospital...
Dec 13th, 2012, 9:03am

Saw a post from Rose on FB -- apparently, Bud went to the VA hospital last night for pneumonia, and they think he might have TB...  he's apparently going to be in the VA hospital for about three days while they do stuff to him....

Hugs, pal...  keep breathing deep...

Oh crap! Poor Bud!  Smiley  Poor Rose too!  She'll have to go in too if it is TB, plus test all the folks at his job he works near/with...

Oh dear Lord, that is dreadful news. Better pneumonia than TB but neither one is a good choice when you don't have all of your lung capacity. Will add Bud and Rose to the prayer list and hope for a little Christmas magic.

Bud posted the following on his Facebook page a couple of hours ago:

Just saw the doctor. CT scan ruled out cancer and makes TB very unlikely. It's either walking pneumonia or some other lung infection. I might get to go home this evening.

Oh that is some good news!  I have had walking pheumonia a couple years ago, and it's no fun, but it sure beats the heck out of C or TB!

Thanks, y'all. It was a very strange week. I had fever, chills, and body aches at night, but was fine during the day, even went to work. But after the fourth day of night fevers, I went to the VA hospital ER, where I was diagnosed with pneumonia in what remains of my left lung. I hadn't really suspected pneumonia because I didn't even have a cold. Because my symptoms so closely resembled those of TB, I was admitted and kept in the hospital until TB could be eliminated. Both the TB test and the CT scan found no TB, so I'm home now with a just few days of antibiotics to take.

Wow Bud. Nothing like a good scare, huh? Sure am glad the TB and cancer got the ax. Take it easy. This is your ticket for some R&R! I'll send positive thoughts your way!

Pneumonia is nothing to sneeze at but it's better than TB or Cancer.  Take care of that as it's no fun to have.  Warm wishes to you and Rose.

Thanks, Dianna. Yes, it's all relative. Pneumonia is indeed very serious, but over in the lung cancer forum, a pneumonia diagnosis always brings congratulations and celebrations all the way around, if no cancer is found with it.

I sure am glad to hear you are getting better.  That's scary stuff even for the rest of us with all their lungs.
