Just wanted to check in with my friends to get your 2 cents worth about
the Scenic ride for the 2013 HOT.
 
This coming Rally, we will be having THREE different Saturday morning
rides instead of just the 2 offered last year. Some of y'all wanted more
than the Scenic and Warriors. There was not an "in between". So this year
we are adding a "Semi Tough". Should be in the 25 range. The Warriors will
kick up to about the 40 mile range. I am begging "Our Man Dan" Hansen to
map some great rides for these 2. Dan ROLLS and can find us perfect rides
-- I am quite confident.
 
Now for the Scenic. Renay, Christi and I are planning to go location
searching in November for the perfect easy ride for the Scenic. For those
who rode the Scenic last year, did you like that route? If not, why not?  
Will those planning to do the Scenic ride give me some feedback on what
they would like the Scenic to be like? Sure would appreciate it. I want
the HOT to be something that everyone has a hand in planning!
 
Remember: The Habitat Suites, the "HOT hotel", has 30 rooms set aside for
the HOT attendees. They are giving us a FANTASTIC rate of $75 a night.
That includes a FABULOUS breakfast and killer happy hour -- free for those
staying there. These are suites -- not "hotel rooms" You have a separate
bedroom and small kitchen and living area. SO NICE and your trike or bike
can have a comfy space to sleep in. A third of the rooms are reserved now.
Good idea to reserve your room NOW. If something comes up and you can't
make the HOT, you can always cancel with no penalty if you do it early
enough.  Reservations HAVE TO BE MADE BY PHONE TO RECEIVE THIS RATE. No
internet reservations. Tell them you want the "HOT13" special for the
Heart of Texas Recumbent Rally.
 
Don't forget the SUPER FUN Recumbent Rodeo to be held Sunday morning. I
want EVERYONE to ride in this rodeo! Checkout the details on the HOT
website (hotrally.org).

Also, a "gift" of a trip to the HOT Rally would be a SUPER fun and
appreciated present for a special some one for Christmas!
 
And remember -- this year the HOT will benefit ARFA -- Assistive
Recumbents for ALl, a non profit group that works to supply recumbents to
the physically challenged who could benefit from recumbent cycling. A
super worthy group that desperately needs financial support. Your
participation in the HOT will benefit this fantastsic organization!
