Got this in an email, about a rally in Roanoke.... $35 registration. Tandem couples are $30 each. Day of goes to $40. www.ntbicyclerally.org This sounds like another good opportunity for an RBENT gathering, as part of a rally... They have offered a few "comp" registrations, as well as a place for a gathering tent/spot for us, which is kinda cool. I'll have Sam send the comps to me in an email (.pdf file), and I'll pass them on to the first three who POST HERE ABOUT WANTING ONE (Terrie and I are going to claim one, to ride the Margarita Machine). No additional fundraising is required, just pay your ride fee. We'll probably take him up on the offer of a tent spot... Paul Dear Friends at Recumbent Cycling of North Texas, My name is Sam Sellers. I am the Director for the North Texas Bicycle Rally. As we have grown over the past four years I am seeking to broaden our rider base for recumbent and Tandem cyclists. your I saw your web page and see that this is a very large group of people that we can cater to. With that in mind, I am seeking assistance in getting our event posted on your website and in your newsletter is that is possible. As a token of our appreciation, I would like to offer up 4 Complimentary ride passes and a booth area near our registration area for the RBENT Team should you be interested. In addition, we will provide space for a tent near the food and entertainment area for your use. With that all said here is the information I would like to dissimenate to the RBENT membership. This coming October 13, at 9:00 A.M. the North Texas Children’s Charities will be hosting the Fourth Annual North Texas Bicycle Rally. It is located in the Alliance Gateway Warehouse District near Roanoke, TX. The North Texas Bicycle Rally (NTBR) is an annual fund raising event for North Texas Children's Charities. This charitable organization supports local and national organizations that provide care and support for desperately ill children. This year's beneficiary of the Bicycle Rally is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Former Dallas Cowboy Offensive Lineman Tom Rafferty will be starting the Bicycle Rally this year and will be available for autographs at the conclusion of the Bicycle Rally. This year’s event we are expecting over 700 Cyclists. The routes will be cover the rolling hills and off-the beaten path roads of North Tarrant and Southern Denton Counties. We will be providing COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRTS and Water Bottles for the first 700 Registered Participants. For the past two years we have been asked by several of the Bicycling Clubs and the more avid cyclists to add a Metric Century to our Rally. So in response, this year we will have 5 Routes of 5, 10, 30, 50, and 62 miles. Our Bicycle Rally has outstanding Public Safety traffic support, Chase and Lead Vehicles, Motorcycle escorts, SAG and Rider support vehicles, plenty of Rest Stops and plenty of safe parking at the Start Finish area of the Rally. At the conclusion of the Bicycle Rally we will be hosting a Tail Ache Party with refreshments, free food provided by Chili's, and the Live Music will be provided by the Robert Donahue Band. ***BRING YOUR CHAIRS AND COOLERS**** Please visit our Website at www.ntbicyclerally.org Thanks, Samuel Sellers Rally Director NTBR Phone: (817) 379-1593
