They had a local radio spot mentioning it yesterday which was how I got the information. I consider myself someone a tea party type of guy but this is silly

This is exactly the type of project that local governments SHOULD be handling.  If this were using federal funds or some nonsense I could see why they'd have their panties in a twist....  I, too, consider myself a Tea Party kind of person but this is a little ridiculous.  How in the world do they justify bike lanes lowering property values???  And how will bike lanes result in increased deaths of cyclists, especially if the lanes are "empty"?    The whole argument doesn't make sense and has nothing to do with the Tea Party's goal of decreasing the size of the federal government.

WOW, I thought I was the only "Tea Party" type guy on this site.  This is BS......now I remember why I moved from Arlington to Grapevine......

Like any political party, they have have good things to say, but it's always so constantly drowned out by all the drivel, bile, and invective they spew that I simply am tired of them all.

Yeah, it's just some nutcases trying to align themselves with the tea party since it's popular right now. Last I checked, conservatives weren't any more anti-cycling than anyone else.  
 
But autos are king in this part of the country and these fruitcakes may find lots of support. How clueless does someone have to be to think that bike lanes would lower area home values rather than raise them?
