Finished 100k tonight, decent ride through Flower Mound and Argyle. Friendly warning from the Coppell police for blowing through a stop sign tho Smiley

lol I was thinking about your last night while I was out on the hurricane and was going to post to watch out for Double Oak! They are on the hunt for cyclists even kept popping up at all the stop signs and waiting for me to stop and move on last night. Bartonville follows us on our weekend rides sometimes too and pulled me over last year since I was apparantly the ring leader.

Just 10 miles around flower mound and double oak for me. Gotta very slowly try to get a little healthier but can't push myself. Hurricane is a much nicer ride then the cruzbike even though the newer quasi low cruzbike is alot smoother then the old one. I think alot of it is the seat which I"ll be attempting to copy this weekend.

Did a quick 10 miles around the Rowlett neighborhood after work last night, getting the requisite "Cool Bike!" from various groups of kids -- even the aloof teenagers walking down the sidewalk attempting to look tough...

Also messed with putting a yellow triangle on the Z-bag with safety pins -- they were out of yellow Z-bags when I ordered the bike, so I got black instead, which obviously does NOTHING to help visibility...

Did a quick 15 miles around Frisco on the new Strada today.  Stopped to adjust my seat on Rolater by the high school and got passed by Steve and Peggy.  You guys need to slow down!!!  By the time I got my seat adjusted and got back on the road, you were long gone.  I tried shooting down Independence and going west on College to see if you were doing loops but I guess not.  Oh well.  Nice wheels by the way.  I don't remember you guys having aero wheels, but then my memory's not what it used to be.  Maybe it I can whip my lazy butt in shape I'll see you guys out there...

I'm always passing through the 3-way stop on Kings and so far haven't seen a cop there in over a year, maybe they go home by the time I get there.

Put in over 23 miles riding to Plano to talk to TxDOT about infrastructure, including legal infrastructure for ChipSeal. had 15-20 MPH headwinds out, but dead calm back. How does this keep happening?

Wow that wind was pretty crazy last night. On my way home on the burgman it was really trying to blow me over then I got home and took the hurricane out for a 20 mile spin through bridlewood and northshore where I sometimes see the baron but no luck on finding it this time. Did find a bunch of loose dogs while already on the phone with the on call animal control officer. Dogs have no fear I tell yah  Smiley

The guy on the Baron decided to do a Grapevine/DFW Airport ride until it started sprinkling going over Grapevine Dam. Ended up making it to Grapevine then sprinted for home as the weather deteriorated.

We shall meet soon

Another short commuter day on the KHS Folder...  But at one point, the sun was shining in from my right, and I looked at my shadow on the street -- it was very weird to see how fully vertical my posture is on this bike, compared to the aero recline of the Xstream and the shadow profiles I'm used to seeing...  I'm definitely not doing any long rides on THIS bike!!!   Grin

Rode my Catrike Speed at WRL with the Texas Catrike rallyers yesterday. Fun ride and great people. The most trikes there's ever been at WRL at one time. They were a big hit with the pedestrians on the path. Got to see evblazer's home-built Cruzbike in action - Nice looking, unique bike. The group capped off the evening with a birthday dinner at Barbecks for our ride leader, Key L.

Rode the Trinity Trails with the Texas Catrike rallyers this morning, after eating some delicious pancakes at Ol'South Pancake House in Fort Worth. Fun ride and some great scenery. Much thanks to our ride leader, Patti. Was feeling so good, I went to WRL this afternoon and put 28 miles on my low racer. Beautiful riding weather, but too many people and cars. Raced a young guy on a mountain bike. Was amazed he was able to hold 26 mph. Just before I was about to pass out, he dropped off.

Saturday did the long route of the Lancaster Rally, with 9 other GDBers, for 64.25 mi, but only averaging 15.5.  Roads are generally in decent shape, but there are areas with potholes, which we'll try to get painted the last couple days before the rally.  Northwest winds made it tough on the DF riders for the last 30 miles...  It had been a couple of years since I had ridden the 63 mile version -- this is not an easy 100K route...  Both the Sugar Ridge Rd section at Mile 15, and the section just past Palmer offer some strenuous climbing.   Had a high of 42 mph on a downhill, blowing past all the others maxing out at ~34...

The 42-mph section, just beyond the next ridge

Sunday I put the Slingmesh seat on and did the GDB Sunday Roll for 33.5 mi.  Had an enjoyable social ride, exploring parts of the new North trail (unfinished), then riding through the Richardson area, followed by lunch at Gazebo Burger.
