Starting today, March 19, we'll be leaving about 5:20 from the north end of Taylor St in downtown Fort Worth to ride out to the Benbrook trail head, about 22.5 miles round trip.  This will be a regular weekly event as long as the weather cooperates and we have Daylight Savings Time.  As we get more daylight the length of the ride will likely extend, sometimes out to 40 miles.  I'm usually the only bent rider.  It would be nice to have some others!  Actually I'll be out there by 4:20 and get in a few miles before the main crowd arrives.  Other Rbenters typically include Brian and Charlie (traitorously riding upwrongs!), though we've seen Bud there too.
Anything from beginners to racers may show up, so there's a speed group for everyone.

Due to the closure of the Trinity Trail for Mayfest, this week (April 23rd), and probably next (April 30), we'll go tackle Burton Hill.  Round trip is about 18 miles, unless you want to do the hill more than once.  Still leaving from same place and time.  The majority of the route will be on a trail, but there will be a few miles on roads, though I've never found them to be hostile for cyclists, except for climbing the hill of course!.

Yup.  Still had gates closed across the trail last Thursday despite cancellation.  Hopefully all cleared away by this Thursday.  Probably head out to Lake Benbrook, 30 mile round trip.

The last Thursday ride for 2009 will likely be Oct. 29.  Daylight Savings time ends the following Sunday, so daylight will be in short supply until next spring.
I get off work at 4:00 so will personally keep riding on Thursdays, but the group thing will cease.  Of course, anyone wanting to ride with me is welcome if they can get there earlier.

Last two rides this season 10-28-10 and 11-4-10, then off till daylight savings time kicks back in next spring.

Thursday evening rides along the Trinity Trail will resume tomorrow, March 17.  Meeting place is the parking lot at the north end of Taylor street in downtown Fort Worth, and plans are to leave at 5:20.  All levels of riders show up for this, so there's someone at your ability level.  All are welcome.

The last 2012 Thursday evening ride occurred yesterday, culminating in dinner at Smashburger on University.  We should start back up again on March 14, 2013 after Daylight Saving Time resumes.  We don't get much turnout from Rbenters, mostly upwrongs, but maybe next year will be different.

FYI, the starting point for the Thursday evening Trinity Trail ride has been moved.  We're now leaving from the basketball court off the trail underneath the Lancaster street bridge at 5:20.  Fort Worth started getting picky about putting money in the meters at our old location, so we moved it to be near free parking.

So, is this ride still going on?  How many attend?  Is there a way to know there will be others before joining on any given Thursday?  Also, could someone please pinpoint the starting parking lot on a Google map and post it so I can be sure to be at the right place at the right time?  I plan on riding this when my new Catrike 700 comes in probably a week or two from now.
